2008 Pet of the Month
December Pet of the Month
Zambini Freed

We are proud to present Zambini Freed as our December Pet of the Month. Zambini is a 19 year old cat who still loves to run all over the house and wake her owners up in the morning. She loves playing with strings and chasing ping pong balls. When she wants attention, she runs back and forth across the computer keyboard until she gets her head scratched and some much needed affection. Her proud owner is Rick Freed of St. Bonifacius.
November Pet of the Month
Hunter Overvold

We are proud to present Hunter Overvold as our November Pet of the Month. Hunter is an enthusiastic 2 year old cocker spaniel who just recovered from a traumatic car accident. He had several severe injuries and major surgery; in spite of this, he has made a full recovery. Hunter’s favorite toy is his purple elephant and when he isn’t playing with that, he enjoys pulling the toilet paper off the holder while he rolls it all over the house. When visiting the Overvold household, Hunter says goodbye by “barking” you out of the house. His proud owners are Doug, Susie, and Logan Overvold of St. Bonifacius.
October Pet of the Month
Addy Fredin

We are proud to present Addy Fredin as our October Pet of the Month. Addy is a one year old cocker spaniel. Addy loves to chase grasshoppers and hold them in her mouth. She also loves to play with her ball and pull-rope toy. Before going to bed, she drops a chew in her owner’s face to get her attention. Her proud owner is Hope Fredin of St. Bonifacius.
September Pet of the Month
Bear, Midnight, and Lighting Young

We are proud to present Bear, Lightning, and Midnight Young as our September Pets of the Month. Bear is an adult male who loves to fill his igloo with bedding and toys, especially his favorite red and yellow ball. Lightning is a young male rat that loves to play with a Puffs Kleenex box and hop around the bathroom like a bunny. Midnight is also a young male rat that loves to hang on the side of his cage and get belly rubs. When he isn’t doing that, you can usually find him playing with his favorite ball that has a bell inside. His proud owner is Nathan Young, along with his parents Teresa and Matt, and his sisters Sabrina, and Paige, of Mound.
August Pet of the Month
Chica Roers

We are proud to present Chica Alan Roers as our August Pet of the Month. Chica is a 2 year old Chihuahua and is originally from Mexico. She loves playing with her favorite toy, Mr. Tiger and she often carries him through the house to attract her owner’s attention. She can often be found sitting on top of her owners and showering them with tons of kisses. Her proud owners are Al and Cindy Roers of Maple Plain.
July Pet of the Month
Ceasar Millman

We are proud to present Ceasar Millman as our July Pet of the Month. Ceasar is a loving 2 year old Siamese mix who loves to play with his owner’s ponytail holders. Every morning Ceasar waits patiently in the bathroom while his owner gets ready for work so he can steal her hair bands from the drawer. Ceasar will sit and meow when he gets the hair bands stuck under the stove until his owner retrieves them with a wooden spoon and a flashlight, which has become a ritual in their household. When Ceasar desires attention, which is usually very early in the morning, he’ll plop himself on his owner’s neck and start cleaning her face until she wakes up. Once he succeeds in waking someone, he starts purring. His proud owner is Cheryl Millman of Watertown.
June Pet of the Month
Max Jenninges

We are proud to present Max Jenniges as our June Pet of the Month. Max is a 5 year old Quaker Parrot. Max loves to play with his toys that squeak, especially his stuffed cat—Max can meow just like it. When Max hears other people laugh, he laughs as well. When his owner is nowhere to be found, he will crawl off of his cage and run around the house. He will even go upstairs in search for his owner. His proud owner is Vicki Jenniges of Mound.
May Pet of the Month
Petra Newbly

We are proud to present Petra Newbly as our May Pet of the Month. Petra is a 4 year old pit-bull terrier who loves to play with her tug-of-war rings. She’ll pick them up and carry them around the house until she convinces someone to play with her! Petra reminds her owners of a cat, because she rolls onto her back and bats her toys into the air above her head. She entertains herself for hours in this way. Petra also loves to play hide and seek. She’ll run downstairs to allow the other “players” time to hide and will then run back upstairs to start her search. Her favorite places to find people are in closets and behind doors and she always finds you! Her proud owners are Mark Staubly and Jessica Newman of St. Bonifacius.
April Pet of the Month
Pepper Olson

We are proud to present Pepper Olson as our April Pet of the Month. Pepper is an 8 year old cat whose favorite toys are caps from contact lens cleaner bottles. She loves to carry them around the house and to bat them around on the kitchen floor. Her funniest habit is grabbing one of her cat toys and ‘yodeling’ with the toy in her mouth. Of course, she only does this when everyone is trying to nap! When Pepper wants her owner’s attention she will go to the garbage can, dig out a piece of paper, and start chewing on the paper until she gets their attention. It’s no wonder Pepper’s proud owners, Brad and Jamie Olson of St. Bonifacius, consider her a pretty noisy kitty.
March Pet of the Month
Brutus Belin

We would like to present Brutus Belin as our March Pet of the Month. Brutus is a 5 year old Great Dane that loves to play with anything that will fit in his mouth, including slippers, socks, and stuffed animals that don’t belong to him. His funniest habit is running upstairs when his owners are not paying attention to sleep on his favorite chair (the only piece of furniture that he is allowed on and he knows it). To get his owner’s attention he stands in front of the television while they are watching it and barks at what he wants to watch. Proud owners are Rick and Carla Belin of Waconia who are going to help Brutus celebrate his birthday this month.
February Pet of the Month
Dulcie Matteson

We would like to present Dulcie Matteson as our February Pet of the Month. Her name means “sweet”, which is just what we think she is. She lives with two big dogs and four other cats but even at age 14 she rules the roost! She loves anything with catnip in it, taking power naps, and staring at her owners with her amazing blue eyes. Her purr is so soft it can’t be heard and can only be detected by feeling the vibrations in her throat. In her younger years, Dulcie was referred to as the “fun sheriff” because any commotion in the house, such as dogs tussling or cats hissing would bring her running to see what was happening. Proud owners are Pete and Pam Matteson of Maple Plain.
January Pet of the Month
Remington Dondlinger

We would like to present Remington Dondelinger as our January Pet of the Month. Remi is a 7 year old black Labrador Retriever who loves chasing her tail in circles, then growling when she finally catches it. Her favorite toy is a bumper used in training hunting dogs. She loves bringing rocks up onto the deck and throwing them at the sliding glass door if her owners are standing there, thinking they are able to pick up the rock and throw it for her. Her proud owners are John, Sandi, Jacob, and Sydney Dondelinger of Minnestrista.
