Dr. Cassie EngmannAssociate Veterinarian with Behavior Emphasis, 19 Years in Practice
Dr. Cassie came to us in October 2020 as a 'relief' doctor to help us catch up on our surgeries. Since then, in addition to surgery, she has helped us begin the pursuit of better addressing our patient's mental health in addition to physical health for less stressful vet visits.
Dr. Cassie received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2002 from Iowa State University. From there, she traveled to Massachusetts to pursue further training and to work as an Emergency Clinician at a Referral/Specialty hospital within the suburbs of Boston. In 2007 Dr. Cassie relocated to MN to pursue the long term connections with both clients and patients that general practice allows.
In addition to her previous education and experience, Dr. Cassie has a very special interest in veterinary behavior and in treating many different canine behavioral disorders. She participated in the NVAC Institute Applied Clinical Behavioral Medicine course in 2016 and 2017, as well as the Advanced Behavioral Medicine course in 2019. Dr. Cassie was also the sole practitioner seeing behavior cases at VCA Animal Wellness Center where she saw her own hospital's behavior cases, in addition to others referred from nearby practices and trainers. It was in 2020 that Dr. Cassie left general practice to pursue behavior consulting full time through Engmann Veterinary Behavior Consulting, PLLC. She is also certified in Sophia Yin's Low Stress Handling as well as a Fear Free Elite Certified Professional.
While she loves all shapes and sizes of dogs (and cats), Australian Shepherds will always be Dr. Cassie's favorite dog breed.
We're excited to have Dr. Cassie on our team to continue to do surgery and be an amazing resource for our clients and patients!
