Veterinary Assistant

Basic Job Description:

  • General housekeeping and janitorial tasks throughout the clinic (i.e. cleaning kennels/runs, laundry, mopping/sweeping, stock supplies, garbage, receive inventory, etc.)
  • Basic animal handling and restraint
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians in aspects of patient care and hospitality as needed
  • Client Service
  • Answer telephones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain computer records
  • Invoicing and billing of clients
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned

This position will start as a Veterinary Assistant and cross-train into the reception position. This is an entry-level position. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with cats and dogs preferred
  • Upbeat and positive attitude
  • Self motivated and hardworking is an absolute must
  • Love of animals
  • Team player
  • Comfortable with windows-based computer programs
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs independently
  • Be able to sit, stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Flexible schedule for day/evening hours [starting at 7am or ending at 6pm] and rotating Saturday [8am-12pm]/weekend shifts

Pay: $13.00 – $16.00 per hour
